Ozone Sandal Face Wash

Homeys-

Apparently that word is not commonly used in the youngsters' vernacular these days - but who cares. I still use it and, therefore, it belongs in Websters Dictionary.

NEWayz (bringing back memories here), I was in New York on New Year's weekend, during most of which I was struggling not to freeze to death.  It was really cold and really windy and we all would shuffle into any darn store that looked interesting to get a break from the howling winds.  There was a reason to our cold madness, and one of those was to check out all the cool shops offering Indian goodies.  We walked into the Bhutala Emporium, which is basically a shop full of religious, meditative and health books, idols, and other products.   Of course, when I walked in, I gravitated towards the shelves of women's beauty products and picked up the Ozone Sandal Face Wash, pictured above.

I wanted it so bad.  My thoughts were: Ayurvedic Indian face wash omg.  That smells like sandalwood. And the bottle is pretty. But it's 8 bucks.  Who cares you are a working woman you deserve it.  Yes but the hubs will yell at me because i have a gazillion face products at home.  This is true.  Let's try to get it anyway.

So I did.  And, I like it.  It claims to have real bits of sandalwood to nourish the face.  It has bits of something, but it is not an exfoliant wash in any way.  It is a clear tinted gel with little particles, but it goes on smooth.  A little goes a long way too, which I like at 8 bucks a bottle.  It seems like it will last me at least 6 months.

I am combination skinned but, for me, that means I am dry in the morning and oily by the afternoon, mostly around my nose and forehead and sometimes the whole face.  So, even I need moisturizer after washing my face or my face will feel tight and stretched.  But, with this face wash I don't feel particularly dried out and never saw the flakiness I used to occasionally see in the mornings.  So, I think it's a balanced formula and seems to be soap free as advertised. (You just never know with products from India - no FTC to regulate advertising!)

Also - it makes a valiant attempt to remove my Loreal HIP liner, which is a feat that almost nothing can remove except lots of rubbing with a rough washcloth and patience.  It does better than most of the washes I have used.

Oh, and it smells good.  Really good, not like what I expected, but still very sandalwood-y which is very refreshing in the mornings. I never care for letting smell be a factor in a functional item aside from being tolerable, but in this case it is a nice bonus!

So before you run out to get some, you need to check if your local Indian store has this stuff, I am not sure mine does.  But, it's definitely available for you NY lovers!
